Today In Baseball History — October 13, 1971

clementeWorldSeriesTriple_jpgThe first night game in World Series history (game 4) was played in Pittsburgh on this day back in 1971.  The Pirates beat the Orioles 4-3 with Roberto Clemente going 3 for 4.  Pittsburgh won the best of seven, 4 games to 3.  Clemente was named the series MVP hitting .414 with an ops of 1.210.
